East Wing of the Plant Lab

The East Wing is a secondary corridor of the Plant Lab, its narrow passage lined with exposed pipes that weep condensation in the humid air. The fluorescent lights flicker intermittently, casting long shadows that dance across pitted concrete walls where painted warnings have been scoured away by time and neglect. A fire door at the far end vents a constant groan of air, its seal long compromised by the spreading Krynoid’s influence. The floor slopes slightly downward toward a drainage grate, where blackened water seeps from cracks in the concrete—a precursor to the viscous pondweed now slithering through unseen ducts. The air smells of ozone and damp earth, the scent of vegetation asserting dominance over sterile human design.
