Airlock of the Solos Transfer Section (and Transfer Passage to Airlock)

The airlock and connecting transfer passage serve as Solos Transfer Section's final barrier between controlled interior and the planet's toxic atmosphere. This combined system includes both the cramped metallic airlock vestibule where Ky and Jo make their last stand, and the narrow utilitarian corridor connecting it to the toxic transfer section's main thoroughfare. The inner door remains sealed against the corrosive outside air, while its outer hatch cycles open under Ky's manipulations. Emergency lights cast stark shadows across functional gray metal walls dented by past impacts in both spaces, with ductwork and bleached pipes lining the corridor. The air is thick with the sharp ozone tang of stressed systems, burnt circuitry, and disruptor fire residue. Alarms pulse red against the bulkheads as Ky drags Jo through this transitional space, their survival depending on its operation for just one more cycle.
