A stark, utilitarian chamber where exhausted laborers are segregated from the mines. Fluorescent strips hum overhead, casting a sickly pallor over bare metal walls slick with condensation. The air carries the acrid tang of antiseptic and unwashed uniforms, thickened by the metallic bite of old pipes groaning under unseen pressure. No windows disrupt the rectilinear geometry of the space—only a single door, its locking mechanism audibly engaged with a finality that brooks no appeal.
