A confined pre-refinery chamber tucked beneath the thicker stone arches near the old smelting vats, its walls lined with soot-blackened shelves that once held ritual chemicals and tempering oils. The air hangs thick with the greasy tang of heated metal and the faint metallic zing of ore dust, clinging to the Doctor’s coat as he adjusts the chamber’s corroded control slab. A single shoulder-high plinth, ringed by cracked ceramic bowls and half-melted ingots, supports the hulking, angular feet of the dormant Aggedor statue; its hollow eyes and fanged muzzle loom just below the low ceiling, casting jagged shadows when the refinery’s emergency flare-ups flicker. The alcove’s own Bohemian torch hisses with overheated gas, its flame shifting from blue to sulfurous yellow as the Doctor channels the ancient Peladonite resonator—the amplifier of belief—through rusted coils and patched-up crystal shards
