Petit Pont

The Petit Pont descends in a gentle slope from the Metro exit at Dupleix, its worn stone steps glazed by decades of footsteps and Parisian rain. The bridge’s iron railings bear scars from collisions and careless climbers, their black paint chipped to show patches of rust bleeding into the pale limestone. A single streetlamp at the midpoint casts a golden halo over benches where elderly men sit with wine bottles, their voices low and rhythmic like the clack of dominoes on concrete.
