Terrace Above the Mansion Formal Garden

The stone terrace sits elevated above a geometrically laid-out formal garden, its balustraded edge offering a vista over sculpted hedges and gravel paths carved into strict patterns. Gray flagstones grow slick with rain that glistens in the overcast light filtering through the mansion’s chimneys. A continuous parapet wall, three feet high and crowned by flagged coping, runs alongside the terrace, broken only by a narrow stone gate that leads down into the garden paths.
