Overlord-Occupied Thaesium Mines

An extensive subterranean network of thaesium mines beneath Solos, repurposed by the Overlords into a lethal containment zone. The galleries stretch like a skeletal ribcage through the planet’s crust, their walls slick with mineral runoff that glistens under the dim glow of helmet lamps. Toxic fumes, thick with the acrid tang of thaesium and rusted iron, clog the air, carrying the stench of old ordnance and decaying timber. Roof beams sag under decades of geological pressure, many collapsed into jagged barricades, while deeper shafts exhale cooler currents carrying the stink of irradiated rot. The Marshal seals the exits and floods the network with toxic gas, turning the mines into a tomb for the Solonians trapped within—both the so-called terrorists and the Mutts seeking refuge from persecution. Mag-lights reveal skeletal remains of former miners and crude booby traps strung across corridors, while distant footfalls echo through the dust-laden dark, betraying the few survivors still clinging to life among the poisoned dark.
