Ruins of Tolox

The streets coil through the shattered remains of Tolox like veins through dead flesh. No streetlights remain—every bulb either shattered in the uprising or stripped for spare parts—leaving the city to choke on its own silence. The air carries the metallic tang of old blood and ozone from downed transmission towers. Rubble piles form razor-backed ridges between cracked thoroughfares, their shadows deep enough to hide both feral dogs and desperate survivors. The cold wind carries shreds of propaganda posters, their slogans now meaningless against the ruined facades. These aren’t orderly paths -- they’re scars, the only routes left after the Happiness Patrol’s collapse turned streets into ambush routes and escape corridors. Even the stars above feel dulled here, as if Tolox’s pain has bled upward into the sky.
