Skonnon Ship Airlock

The airlock is a narrow, cylindrical transition space between the vacuum of space and the ship’s interior, its circular hatch groaning under the stress of decompression. Metal walls bear the pitted scars of previous impacts, fused with alien rivets and frost from abrupt pressure changes. The airlock chamber smells of ozone and burnt circuitry, lit by the sickly amber glow of failing emergency lights that strobe in time with distant alarm klaxons. Here, the void is only a hatch away—held temporarily at bay by the alien ship’s failing integrity, its outer door warped by the collision with the TARDIS. The space feels both temporary and exposed, a vulnerable seam in the ship’s armor where survival depends on speed and imperfect seals.
