A single fluorescent tube overhead flickers intermittently, casting sharp shadows through the bars of a grimy wire cage that protects the fixture. Dust motes drift in the stale air while the cabinet hums at a sub-audible pitch, a residual vibration from the nearby TARDIS conversion.
