Vardran Scrubland

The scrubland stretches before Nesbin's camp, a patchwork of brittle grasses and low, skeletal bushes clinging to cracked earth. Ravenous winds scour the terrain, carrying the scent of dry vegetation and the faint metallic tang of distant Vardan machinery. Under the bruised violet sky, every step kicks up clouds of dust that catch the light like flecks of embers. The path is uneven, marked by the deep ruts of Nesbin's warriors' passage, forcing Leela and Rodan to pause often—both for Rodan’s exhaustion and Leela’s readiness to defend them against scavengers or patrols. The land itself feels hostile, offering no shelter until Nesbin’s encampment appears as a desperate beacon against the open wild, its presence announced by the flicker of torchlight and the low murmur of voices hardening into challenge.
