Magellanic Clouds

The Magellanic Clouds appear as a vast, luminous smudge across the dark of space, their combined stellar glow painting the void in pale blues and whites. Seen from the vantage of the Hive complex on Ribos or a passing vessel, the two satellite galaxies seem close enough to touch—though in truth they lie separated by impossible distances. Their light casts subtle, shifting reflections across the polished durasteel of orbital craft and the durasteel-reinforced observation decks of planetary strongholds. The glow is cold and sterile, the sort of light that makes even the most rugged spacer pause when scanning the star map. Astronavigators rely on these familiar landmarks to orient themselves within the galaxy’s outer fringes, as their paler colors stand out against the denser starfields of the Coreward route.
