Jungle Clearing

A hushed clearing amid dense Indian jungle vegetation holds a grotesque statue of Kali, the goddess decked in human fingers and severed heads. Ritual offerings—dead birds, turtles, scattered leaves—circle its base, infusing the air with decay and menace. Sajnu the guide freezes in primal terror, abandons the group, and flees, stranding Indiana Jones, Willie Scott, and Short Round. Indy brushes off the supernatural aura yet pockets a ritual stone, while Willie vents frustration and Short Round grieves the lost elephants. The space pulses with Thuggee cult omens, heightening the trio's isolation and dread as they press toward Pankot Palace.
