For the Doctor, it’s a temporary sanctuary—a place to catch his breath and regroup as the guards close in. But its true value lies in what it contains: the guard uniforms, which become the key to his survival. The cupboard is a microcosm of the Atlantean stronghold’s systems: orderly, functional, and designed to serve the regime’s needs. Yet, in this moment, it becomes a tool of subversion, offering the Doctor the means to infiltrate the very heart of the enemy’s territory. The cupboard’s role in the event is twofold: it provides the Doctor with a place to hide, and it supplies him with the disguise he needs to continue his mission.
