The armored hatch serves as both exit and defensive vantage point for the Dalek Tactical Unit. The Dalek emerges through it directly onto the battlefield, enabling immediate visual contact with the ridge and line of fire. After the attack, the hatch remains open, revealing one Dalek still stationed inside.

Before: Closed and sealed, concealing the Daleks’ presence beneath the ship’s surface where weapons were dormant due to planetary energy disruption.
