Doctor interrupts the sacrificial ritual

The ropes binding Polly, Ben, and Jamie to the platform are both a physical and symbolic constraint. Physically, they prevent the companions from escaping as the platform tilts, their bodies straining against the fibers. Symbolically, the ropes represent the cult's control over life and death, their tightness a metaphor for the inevitability of the sacrifice. As the platform shifts, the ropes groan under the strain, their integrity the only thing standing between the companions and the sharks below.

Before: Tightly secured around the companions' wrists and the platform's beams, holding them in place.
