Pakistani Oak Reinforcement Timber
Thick oak planks, salvaged from the royal timber stores, rushed to the west gate as emergency fortification. Their rough-hewn surfaces bear axe marks and splinters, the wood still bearing traces of resin and pale amber sap that catch the torchlight. Measuring between eight and ten feet in length, they are stacked horizontally across the gateway's most vulnerable points, wedged into place with iron-shod crowbars to create a barricade against the Brethren's siege. The timber's length forces guards to wrestle the beams into position, their muscles straining under the weight of oak that refuses to yield even when jammed against the stone arch.
