Weng-Chiang's Poisoned Pill Box
A small, unassuming container Weng-Chiang uses to store the lethal pill he forces upon his terrified coolies. When Ho fails to produce the missing key bag, Weng-Chiang alters his punishment from summary execution to drawn-out torment, snatching the pill box from its hiding place with theatrical menace. His victims recognize its purpose instantly—the singular, agonizing end it promises. The box itself is nondescript, emphasizing how its contents matter more than its appearance.
