Billy’s Home-Made Mega-Amplifier

A jury-rigged sonic amplifier assembled from scavenged electronic parts, its wiring held together with black electrical tape and plastic zip-ties. The device is roughly the size of a large toolbox, with a rectangular metal casing bolted onto a wooden base for stability. Bundles of colored wire trail from the back, and its warped plywood front panel features a rusted toggle switch and a large volume knob. When powered on via the toggle switch, the unit emits a low, warbling hum that swells into a distorted growl before producing ear-piercing feedback when the volume is increased. The amplifier's speaker cone strains visibly under maximum output, projecting the user's voice with amplified clarity despite ambient noise or distance.
