Doctor outmaneuvers Kandyman with Ace at gunpoint

Ace uses the service manhole as her entry and exit point, climbing from its depths into the Kandy Kitchen’s industrial glare. When the confrontation turns violent, the Kandyman retreats downward through the same passage, compelled by the roaring flame. The hatch becomes both escape route and symbolic wound in the regime’s facade, a reminder that subversion emerges from below.

Before: Sealed, embedded in the kitchen floor with heat-blighted hinges and no visible handle.

After: Ajar in the floor, trailing scorched paint and embedded ash near the hinges from the Kandyman’s rapid descent.

Ace and the Doctor burn the Kandyman

While not directly used in this moment, the service manhole beneath the Kandy Kitchen provides the Doctor and Ace’s entry point and later becomes the Kandyman’s escape route under duress from the rising flames.

Before: Closed hatch set into the floor, slightly raised metal surface scarred with heat blisters.
