Kane’s tactical communicator, though unseen, is the channel for the original destruction order. Belazs repurposes the communicator’s function, using it to transmit a contrary directive. The device becomes a tool of insubordination, its metallic casing accommodating Kane’s initial brutality and Belazs’s cool countermand.
