The Double Doors serve as both physical and narrative threshold, their heavy brass fittings groaning as the Doctor thrusts them inward to admit Peri and himself. In doing so, he defies the Chapel’s intended solemnity, marking the space as contested ground where ceremonial ritual will be subverted by his machinations.

Before: Sealed, enforcing separation between external corridors and the Chapel’s funerary chamber.

After: Open and swinging, signaling the Doctor’s disruptive entry and asserting dominance over the environment.
