A single submarine seen across contiguous periscope scenes: it surfaces in a moonlit ocean with its tall periscope jutting above choppy waves while Indiana Jones clings to it as sharks circle the hull; the vessel accelerates toward a cliff-ringed island, then dives and powers through a narrow underwater tunnel with the periscope slicing ahead as its only surface contact.
