The dark brown mare becomes the Doctor’s chosen steed: he seizes the bridle and swings himself aboard bareback before yelling for Paterson to follow. Its sudden motion startles the air and draws the Cheetahs’ collective gaze toward their new target, turning pursuit onto the riders rather than the paralyzed Paterson.
