The heavy hemp ropes, salt-stiffened and frayed, were meant to stabilize the kouros during transit but are now slack due to Curt’s temporary absence. Their inadequacy is visually highlighted as the crate sits partially unsecured, allowing the Doctor closer access but also exposing the inadequacy of procedural safeguards—now obsolete against the awakened force within the artifact.
