The flicker of multiple taper candles clings to the cellar’s far wall, their flames stretched long by the draft and the cellar’s oppressive stillness. The candles are stout, their wax pooled unevenly on simple brass holders hammered into the brick. The light they cast barely pierces the gloom, barely enough to reveal the android’s outline at the door — a hunched silhouette that blocks the only exit. When the Doctor searches for another way out, the faint glow from these candles disappears into the deeper pocket of darkness to his left, swallowed by the cellar’s hidden corners.
