The alcove containing the shrivelled cactus skin serves as Meglos’s coveted destination—a cradle of residual humanity nestled in the lab’s rusted wall. The transparent energy screen of the alcove pulses faintly, marking it as the only barrier between annihilation and fleeting restoration for Meglos’s fractured psyche.
