Scooter convoy leads daring escape

The American’s getaway sedan is the most cumbersome link in the convoy chain: its dark panels absorb the lane’s shadows as it accelerates under the Doctor’s improvised command. Mel and the reluctant Burton wedge themselves into the tight rear footwell, transforming a tourist saloon into a fugitive chariot.

Before: Stationary beside the cottage, headlamps off, doors possibly ajar.

After: Rolling down the lane at high speed, bumping over ruts with Burton gripping the seatback in humiliation.
