Each iteration shows a figure expanding beyond mechanics and obedience: from compliant maintenance man under John Dyson to a planetary functionary whose casual chats conceal quiet conflict under hypnotic control, and ultimately to an unsettling governmental agent enforcing the directives of Arnold Jellicoe.
