Act 1

Azaxyr declares the Doctor dead and moves to consolidate control over Peladon, ordering Eckersley to disable the ventilation system in the trisilicate mines to force the rebels out. Sarah confronts Azaxyr, asserting the rebels' resilience and the Doctor's impact, but Azaxyr dismisses her, sending her to the throne room. Unbeknownst to Azaxyr, the Doctor regains consciousness, discovers Ettis's death, and seeks out Gebek. He learns of the dire conditions in the mines, with stale air and dropping temperatures, and Gebek's report of Sarah's disappearance after Rima's death. Meanwhile, in the throne room, Sarah, Queen Thalira, Ortron, and Ambassador Alpha discuss Azaxyr's tyrannical plans for martial law and conscription. Alpha reveals Azaxyr has blocked all communications, but suggests a spatial distress beacon as a last resort. Sarah devises a plan to reach the communications room, proposing a diversion where Thalira faints. The diversion succeeds in luring an Ice Warrior guard away, but Ortron sacrifices his life to save Thalira from the returning guard, allowing Sarah and Alpha to escape. Azaxyr, learning of their flight to the tunnels, orders Thalira guarded. Sarah and Alpha reach the communications room, where Alpha activates the distress beacon. Sarah then uses the monitor to observe Azaxyr and Eckersley, uncovering their conspiracy to ship trisilicate to Galaxy Five. Seeing the Doctor alive on the monitor, Sarah leaves to join him, while Eckersley uses the Aggedor projection to terrorize the miners. This act establishes the immediate aftermath of the Doctor's supposed death, introduces the new threats from Azaxyr and Eckersley's conspiracy, and sets the protagonists on a path to counter these dangers.

Act 2

Sarah, having discovered the Doctor is alive and the full extent of Eckersley's betrayal, makes her way to the refinery to join him and Gebek. Outside the refinery, the Doctor and Gebek observe Azaxyr and Eckersley discussing their plans, including the use of Aggedor to "smoke out" the miners. The Doctor realizes Eckersley controls Aggedor, using it to attack miners and guards, but advises Gebek they must wait for their chance to act. Eckersley and Azaxyr leave the refinery, with Eckersley mentioning he needs to reset the alarm from the communications room. Azaxyr leaves an Ice Warrior to guard the refinery. Seizing the opportunity, the Doctor, Gebek, and Sarah (who arrives just in time to create a crucial distraction) subdue the Ice Warrior guard. The Doctor immediately begins working on the alarm system and door circuits, racing against time. Concurrently, in the communications room, Azaxyr intercepts Ambassador Alpha attempting to send the distress signal. Azaxyr threatens Alpha, but Eckersley intervenes, highlighting Alpha's continued usefulness. Under pressure, Alpha reveals Sarah's knowledge of the conspiracy and her departure to the refinery after seeing the Doctor alive on the monitor. Enraged, Azaxyr dispatches Sskel and other Ice Warriors to the refinery to destroy the Doctor, escalating the direct threat. The Doctor successfully fixes the alarm and prepares to enter the refinery, just as Eckersley returns to the communications room to switch the alarm back on, unknowingly sealing the Doctor's group inside. This act details the protagonists' initial counter-move, their strategic infiltration of the refinery, and the tightening net as Azaxyr's forces close in.

Act 3

The Doctor, Sarah, and Gebek enter the refinery, immediately working to reverse Azaxyr's sabotage. The Doctor restores the ventilation system, providing much-needed air to the struggling miners. Sarah points out the Aggedor statue, prompting the Doctor to explain its true nature: a technological matter projector linked to a directional heat ray, confirming Eckersley's manipulation. Outside the refinery, Sskel and two additional Ice Warriors arrive, finding their fallen comrade. They begin using their weapons to melt through the metal door, trapping the Doctor's group inside the refinery. Simultaneously, in the throne room, Ambassador Alpha presses Eckersley for his motives, leading Eckersley to reveal his ultimate ambition: to become the most powerful man in the galaxy, ruler of Earth, by leveraging the Ice Warriors' conquest. He exposes Azaxyr as the leader of a breakaway Ice Warrior faction, seeking a return to their militaristic past, and not truly loyal to the Federation. Azaxyr enters, confirming the Doctor is alive and trapped in the refinery, intensifying the immediate danger. The act concludes with the Ice Warriors actively breaching the refinery, creating a critical, high-stakes confrontation. The Doctor, Sarah, and Gebek are now physically cornered, facing imminent attack, while the full, treacherous scope of Eckersley and Azaxyr's plan for galactic domination and the shipment of trisilicate to Galaxy Five stands exposed, setting the stage for a desperate struggle for survival and to prevent a catastrophic interstellar war.
