Act 1

Imperial Daleks land their shuttlecraft, announcing their mission to capture the Hand of Omega from a renegade faction. Gilmore, initially hesitant, agrees to cooperate with the Doctor after realizing the gravity of the situation. Ace confronts Mike, who tries to justify his earlier betrayal by claiming ignorance of the Daleks' involvement and expressing a misguided sense of loyalty to 'his own people.' Gilmore arrests Mike under the Official Secrets Act. A street battle erupts between Imperial and Renegade Daleks, highlighting the Dalek civil war and introducing the formidable Special Weapons Dalek. The Doctor devises a plan to infiltrate the Imperial shuttle, using a rope and his umbrella to access an unguarded service hatch. Inside, he disables the pilot Dalek and uses its controls to reveal a star map, confirming the Daleks' intent to return to their home planet, Skaro. He then deactivates the shuttle's ground defenses, allowing his companions to exit safely. This act establishes the immediate threat, the internal conflict among the Daleks, and the Doctor's proactive approach to gathering intelligence and disrupting enemy operations.

Act 2

Mike escapes custody and seeks out Ratcliffe, attempting to bargain for their lives, but Ratcliffe remains focused on acquiring the time controller for power. Renegade Daleks capture Mike and Ratcliffe. The girl, a human operative working with the Renegades, repairs the time controller, preparing for their departure. Suddenly, the Imperial Special Weapons Dalek blasts through Ratcliffe's yard gates, initiating a full-scale Dalek war between the factions. Ratcliffe grabs the time controller and runs, but the girl zaps him with electricity, killing him. Mike seizes the time controller and escapes into a building, followed by the girl. The Black Dalek retreats, leaving the grey Daleks to fight the Imperials. Back in the school cellar, the Doctor explains the Dalek factions to Rachel and Allison, revealing the racial purity conflict driving their war. The Doctor, having rigged the transmat for communication, sends Ace to follow Mike, warning her against heroics. The Imperial mothership prepares to lock the Hand of Omega into its control circuit, escalating the stakes significantly.

Act 3

The Doctor establishes a visual and audio link with the Dalek mothership from the school cellar, confronting Davros, who is revealed to be the Emperor Dalek. The Doctor identifies himself as President Elect of the High Council of Time Lords and demands the Hand of Omega's surrender. Davros, now fully transformed, dismisses the Doctor's warnings and boasts of his plan to use the Hand to transform Skaro's sun into an unimaginable power source, intending to destroy Gallifrey and subjugate all other races. The Doctor, despite Rachel's concern, provokes Davros, highlighting his impotence. Davros, angered, activates the Omega device, believing he will achieve ultimate power. However, the Doctor reveals his deception: he programmed the Hand of Omega to fly into Skaro's sun and turn it supernova. Skaro and its entire system are obliterated, and the feedback destroys the Dalek mothership. Davros, realizing he has been tricked, attempts to escape in an escape pod, but the mothership explodes before he can flee. Mike, still in possession of the time controller, is killed by the girl at the boarding house. The Doctor and Gilmore confront the last remaining Black Dalek. The Doctor psychologically dismantles the Dalek, detailing the destruction of its forces, home planet, and creator, causing it to short-circuit and atomize. The girl collapses, her Dalek programming broken, and Ace comforts her. The Doctor and Ace depart, reflecting on their actions and the enduring nature of time.
