Doctor faces the Horda trial alone

The fraying Horda-trial rope stretches taut across the platform, its speed and fragility critical to the trap’s mechanism. The Doctor targets its thin, accelerating midpoint, timing his shot to collapse the trapdoor precisely as the warrior prepares to fire. The rope’s failure exposes Calib’s lie.

Calib brandishes the Horda-attached stick as a prop to demonstrate the creatures’ deadliness, hissing at the Doctor to demonstrate the Horda’s bite. The Doctor snatches it, using the weapon to redirect the warrior’s aggression, turning the Horda against its user.

Leela’s crossbow is seen in her bound hands as she attempts to free herself, its presence underscoring the tribe’s lethal readiness. Though she does not fire it during this event, its looming threat looms over the proceedings as the warriors’ weapon of choice.
