Turlough constructs rope ladder in breakout attempt

The camouflage bedclothes—rough linen twisted by Turlough’s hands—are used to conceal the Black Guardian’s crystal during its concealment phase before the sheets are manipulated. Their crude folds and stiffness provide both stealth and texture, hiding the crystal’s light within their coarse weave, masking Turlough’s intent from casual observation.

Tegan finds the escape ladder under floor plates

The tightly coiled rope ladder, previously hidden above in the ceiling panel's narrow gap, is revealed when Tegan spots it and points it out. Its faded but sturdy fibers dangle downward into the compartment, serving as a precarious but viable escape route from their metallic prison. The ladder’s rough texture contrasts with the smooth metal surfaces around it, indicating its long-unused status.

Before: Hidden from view above a ceiling panel, coiled tightly and tightly wedged within the narrow gap of the floor compartment.

After: Discovered and hanging down as a visible escape path from beneath the floor plates, its frayed ends now within reach.
