The Faceless Ones Part 3

The Doctor, with the help of Jamie and Samantha, races against time to expose Chameleon Tours' sinister plot of mass kidnapping, uncovering an alien invasion before the Commandant and Captain Blade silence him forever, risking the lives of countless youths.

The Doctor, accompanied by Jamie and Samantha, investigates Chameleon Tours at Gatwick Airport, suspecting their involvement in the disappearance of young people. Their investigation begins after the Doctor narrowly escapes from Spencer in the Chameleon Tours office, exposing an icy gas trap and a hidden room. Detective Inspector Crossland arrives to investigate a potential murder, leading to an uneasy alliance with the Doctor. They bring their findings to the Commandant, who initially dismisses their claims of ray guns and alien abduction.

Undeterred, the Doctor persists, using a device to demonstrate advanced technology. Samantha reveals pre-stamped postcards sent by Chameleon Tours to assure parents of their children's safe arrival, confirming something is amiss. The Commandant begrudgingly grants the Doctor twelve hours to prove his claims, with Crossland assigned to keep an eye on him. Meanwhile, Spencer and Meadows plot to eliminate the Doctor, fearing he knows too much.

As the Doctor's investigation intensifies, he and Jamie uncover a secret room in the Chameleon Tours office, which exposes a TV monitor, further proving their suspicions. Meanwhile Captain Blade and Ann capture Detective Inspector Crossland. He is strapped into what appears to be a cockpit and the plane takes off.

Back at the airport, Meadows places a tracking device on the Doctor's back, intending for Spencer to activate it later. The Doctor, Jamie, and Samantha, explore deeper into the mystery of the missing people as the clock ticks down. Upon returning to the hangar after following new leads, Spencer activates the mechanism to eliminate The Doctor, but Jamie removes it, saving the Doctor. The episode concludes as the Doctor and his companions move towards uncovering the deeper conspiracy behind Chameleon Tours, knowing they are running out of time as an allied detective has been captured by the enemy.

Act 1

The Doctor narrowly escapes Spencer's gas trap in the Chameleon Tours office, using quick thinking to block the nozzles and disable Spencer with his own pen weapon. He flees past Meadows, who wears a distinctive white armband. In the concourse, Detective Inspector Crossland arrives, investigating a potential murder and a missing colleague. Jamie introduces Crossland to the Doctor, who confirms Spencer's presence in the hangar. Blade, angered by the Doctor's escape, orders Spencer to eliminate him, deeming Spencer incompetent. Crossland takes the Doctor to the Commandant, who remains skeptical of the Doctor's claims of ray guns and alien involvement. Undeterred, the Doctor presents his 'pen' weapon, demonstrating its freezing capabilities on a cup, which convinces Jean and Crossland, but not fully the Commandant. Meanwhile, Samantha, with Jamie, discovers a cache of pre-stamped postcards in the Chameleon Tours office, meant to deceive parents into believing their children arrived safely. They present this crucial evidence to the Commandant, with Samantha passionately explaining the scam, fueled by her brother's disappearance. Crossland advocates for the Doctor, securing a twelve-hour window for him to gather concrete evidence, with Crossland assigned to supervise. Simultaneously, Spencer and Meadows plot to attach a tracking device to the Doctor, intending to activate it later for his demise. This act establishes the core conflict, introduces key antagonists, and sets a ticking clock, transforming the Doctor's initial suspicions into a legitimate, albeit time-constrained, investigation. The Commandant's grudging acceptance validates the Doctor's mission, but also highlights the danger he faces from both the alien threat and the authorities' initial disbelief.

Act 2

With a twelve-hour deadline looming, the Doctor, Jamie, and Samantha receive airport passes, intensifying their investigation. The Doctor scrutinizes Chameleon Tours' flight schedules and plane usage, noting an unusual 'quick turnaround' for their four planes handling eight daily flights, suggesting a hidden operational aspect. Meadows, seizing an opportunity, covertly places a button-sized tracking device on the Doctor's back, a component of Spencer's assassination plot. Concurrently, Detective Inspector Crossland pursues his own line of inquiry, confronting Spencer at the Chameleon Tours kiosk about the missing boy and the presumed murder of Inspector Gascoigne. Spencer, under Blade's remote instruction, directs Crossland to Blade's plane. Unbeknownst to Crossland, this is a trap. Onboard the seemingly standard aircraft, Blade and Ann Davidson reveal their true intentions, capturing Crossland and revealing the 'flight deck' is not what it seems. Blade brandishes a ray gun, admitting to Gascoigne's murder, and straps Crossland into a seat, implying he will be taken off-world. Simultaneously, the Doctor and Jamie locate the hidden door in the Chameleon Tours office, leading to a secret room. Inside, they discover a cabinet containing an air conditioning unit, suggesting a non-Earth atmosphere, and a TV monitor displaying a hospital-like setting. This discovery provides a crucial lead, prompting the Doctor to seek a First Aid post. As they leave, Spencer remotely activates the device on the Doctor's back, causing him to collapse. Jamie quickly identifies and destroys the device, saving the Doctor. This act dramatically escalates the conflict: a key ally is captured, the Doctor narrowly escapes assassination, and concrete evidence of alien involvement emerges, pushing the protagonists closer to the heart of the conspiracy.
